Welcome!
The United Jewish Federation of Utah, also known locally as "UJF" or "the Federation", is the major Jewish fundraising organization in Utah. Over 500 individuals and families contribute generously to UJF, and the funds they give are distributed to support charitable Jewish organizations in Utah and throughout the world.
In addition to its fundraising activities, the Federation participates directly in the Jewish life of Utah. For instance, we help plan and coordinate the activities other Jewish organizations and sponsor programs that involve multiple organizations. We compile a calendar of these activities and post it on this web site. We also provide scholarships that enable families in need to send their children to Jewish schools and camps.
The UJF is an affiliate of United Jewish Communities and is one of 156 Federations located throughout the United States and Canada. A portion of the funds raised by UJF and the other Federations is directed to the national organization, from which it is distributed to overseas agencies, including the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Israel that provide social services for Jews and others in Israel and the Diaspora. More information about the Federation system and its history can be found here.
We hope that this web page will help answer your questions about UJF and will encourage you to help in our work. The links to the left lead to more information about us and the organizations we help support.
